Data Deletion Request
At BillBox, your privacy is our top priority. Because our application follows a local-first architecture, most of your data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Important Notice: Since BillBox does not store your bills on any central developer server, you have full control over your data deletion directly from your device.
How to Delete Your Data
- In-App Deletion: You can delete individual bill records at any time within the app by selecting the bill and tapping the delete icon.
- Complete Device Reset: To remove all local data at once, go to your Android Settings > Apps > BillBox > Storage and select "Clear Data". Alternatively, simply Uninstall the application to wipe all local records.
- Google Drive Backup (Optional): If you have enabled the premium backup feature, you can delete your cloud-stored data by opening BillBox, going to Settings, and selecting "Disconnect". You can also manually delete the
billbox_backup.zipfile from your Google Drive's hidden "AppData" folder.
Data Types Deleted
Upon performing the steps above, the following data types are permanently deleted:
- Original receipt images and PDF documents.
- Parsed bill data (Vendor names, amounts, dates).
- Custom categories and expense history.
- App configuration and security settings.
Data Retention & Storage
As we do not operate a central server for bill storage, there is no retention period. Once you delete data from your device or Google Drive, it is removed immediately and cannot be recovered by the developer.
